In hardshelled case of issue, maker marked Royal Mint, with additional ribbon. RARE. Footnote: While the Second World War was being fought, Newfoundland was still a seperate British colony and did not enter Canadian Confederation until 1949. Consequently, Newfoundland servicemen did not qualify for the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. This deficiency was not remedied until July
