and is not to be taken on combat flights

Constructed of a blackened zink alloy, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath with scalloped edges, around a central raised Stahlhelm bearing a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 37. 60 mm (w) x 43. 40 mm (h), weighing 8. 7 grams, with minor oxidation and loss of finish
