Gottschalk, Louis Moreau - Signed Carte-de-Visite 1862 Autographs Singers 50 or less B autograph note signedAmerican composer and virtuoso pianist (18291869), one of the first figures in American music to attain an international reputation as a composer, Gottschalk spent most of his life abroad and died in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at age 40. Signed carte de visite style photo, by Dunshee, Rhode Island, inscribed and dated in New York in 1862.
