Boat on Stand, Traveler Product:Boat on Stand, Traveler Splashed with 23k gold leafFor this unique sculpture, the artist uses the boat as a metaphor for our life's journey. Each stoneware boat is individually hand built from slabs and has a bird pinched from clay perched on its bow. The carved waves are painted with slips and terra sigillatas made by the artist. The weathered surface is achieved by applying a semi matte glaze then wiping the highlights of the texture to leave behind glaze that has a flashing quality. Metal pedestal
